HomeServices of America® Announces Executive Retirement

Minneapolis, Minn. (June 21, 2017) – HomeServices of America Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, announced today that Robert (Bob) Moline, president of HomeServices and CEO of its real estate brokerage division is retiring. With Moline’s retirement, HomeServices is expanding its executive leadership team to include five regional presidents from within its real estate brokerage family of companies.

Moline began his real estate career nearly 30 years ago and held executive leadership positions including CEO and broker of HomeServices of Nebraska prior to being named president and chief operating officer of HomeServices in 2008. Moline was named CEO of the HomeServices brokerage division in 2015 where he supported the operations of the company-owned real estate brokerages, comprising more than 30 locally branded companies in 28 states.

Among his many accomplishments while at HomeServices, Moline is recognized for his leadership in Upstream, a real estate industry initiative aimed at streamlining the management of brokers’ listing data, and the Broker Public Portal, which creates a nimble online consumer home search experience. Moline has been the recipient of numerous professional and civic accolades, including being named 2004 Realtor of the Year for the Nebraska Realtors Association and named as one of the “Most Powerful People in Real Estate Brokerage” in the 2017 Swanepoel Power 200 list. Moline has served on the Nebraska Real Estate Commission, was chairman of The Realty Alliance, and has served on several National Association of Realtors’ committees including the MLS Committee and the Business Issues Committee, which he chaired, as well as other industry boards.

“I am honored to have had the opportunity to be part of HomeServices and proud to have worked with such a talented and experienced leadership team. Through the years, we have accomplished a great deal and I am confident that HomeServices will continue to set the standard for innovation, excellence, and integrity in the real estate industry” said Moline. “I am looking forward to this next chapter to focus on my children and grandchildren, traveling, and spending time hunting, fishing, and enjoying the great outdoors.”

“Bob’s analytical, strategic, and collaborative approach, together with his deep understanding and passion for the real estate industry, has been instrumental in growing and executing the business strategies for HomeServices,” said Ron Peltier, chairman and CEO of HomeServices. “On behalf of everyone at HomeServices, we thank him for his valuable contributions, both to HomeServices and to the real estate industry overall.”

We wish Bob well as he enjoys his retirement and congratulate Candace, Mary Lee, Larry, Rosey and Greg on their expanded roles within HomeServices.”

EWM Realty International Expands Connections In New York City

EWM Realty International is in an Empire State of mind as key ties between Miami and Manhattan continue to strengthen.

A series of major expansions and acquisitions by parent company, HomeServices of America, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, have opened new doors within the City (and across the U.S.) for EWM …furthering connections between area buyers and sellers.

At the beginning of the year, HomeServices announced the founding of its first New York real estate brokerage, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New York Properties, in the heart of Manhattan on Madison and 57th Street.  The headquarters officially opened May 18, and EWM was on-hand for the unveiling.

“Our EWM associates have always had a stake in the New York market, as frequent visitors and connectors,” said EWM CEO Ron Shuffield to Miami Today newspaper regarding the new office.  “But having our own wholly-owned sister companies in New York provides even greater synergy.”

Manhattan real estate leader Ellie Johnson will serve as president of the New York office, overseeing area business.  Johnson and New York Properties are part of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties/Westchester Properties family, which continues its growth in the Northeast under the leadership of CEO Candace Adams.

And directly on the heels of announcing its first New York affiliation in January, HomeServices acquired premier broker Houlihan Lawrence.  Based in the northern suburbs of New York City since 1888, the company has furthered the size of HomeServices’ luxury portfolio in the area — as well as its subsequent visibility.  With 40 large company brands across the U.S., HomeServices is now the nation’s second largest residential real estate services provider.
